NFL Films - Pittsburgh Steelers - The Complete History
The Complete History of the Pittsburgh Steelers is NFL Films' amazing 142-minute overview of one of the NFL's most storied and successful franchises. It begins with the team's humble start as the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1933, its first star, Byron "Whizzer" White (who soon gave up football glory for school and an eventual seat on the U.S. Supreme Court), and a by-necessity wartime merger with Pennsylvania's other team to form the Phil-Pitt Steagles. Subsequent years brought their move to the fledgling AFC, the hiring of coach Chuck Noll, and an influx of better players such as Joe Green, Terry Bradshaw (when he had hair!), Lynn Swann, and Jack Lambert. That led in turn to Franco Harris's "Immaculate Reception" and four Super Bowl championships in a span of six years. But the history doesn't end there. Also covered are players such as Rod Woodson, Kordell "Slash" Stewart, Hines Ward, and Ben Roethlisberger, the passing of owner Art Rooney, a new coach in square-jawed native son Bill Cowher, the disappointment of Super Bowl XXX, the infamous coin-flip fiasco, the demolition of Three Rivers Stadium, and the team's relationship with its community, up to and including the team's 2004 season. If that's not enough, the two-DVD set also adds three and a half hours of bonus features. There's the 48-minute "NFL's Greatest Games" installment about Super Bowl XIII, 40-minute featurettes on Cowher, Jerome Betttis, and Bradshaw, and shorter pieces on Harris's Italian fan club, Rocky Bleier, broadcaster Myron Cope, longtime running back and coach Dick Hoak, and the first player mic'd for sound, linebacker Bill Saul. Obviously The Complete History of the Pittsburgh Steelers is a must-own for Steeltown fans, but it should also appeal to almost anyone interested in football history. --David Horiuchi

NFL Super Bowl XL - Pittsburgh Steelers Championship DVD
The Pittsburgh Steelers quest for a fifth Super Bowl title was an epic journey that took 26 years to complete. In 2004, the Steelers finished with the best record in the history of the AFC, only to lose the championship game for the fifth time in their last six tries. The loss was particularly painful for the Steeler family because many suspected it would be the final game of Jerome Bettis' career. But the 5th all-time leading rusher in NFL history returned in 2005, hoping for one more shot at a title. In Week 14, with the team 7-5 and the season on the line, Bettis ran for 101 yards and two touchdowns in a 21-9 victory over the NFC North champion Chicago Bears. The Steelers did not lose again. Highlighted by a "heart-stopping" sequence that will forever be known in Pittsburgh as the Immaculate Redemption, the Steelers improbable run to a title included wins on the road over the top three seeds in the AFC, the Cincinnati Bengals, the Indianapolis Colts and the Denver Broncos. In Super Bowl XL, played in Jerome Bettis' hometown of Detroit, the Steelers defeated the Seattle Seahawks and became the first sixth seed in NFL history to win it all. Own a piece of history! The most anticipated and watched sporting event of the year. Complete with highlights from the Steelers regular season, playoffs and the big game itself. The 2006 release contains over 3 full hours of action, along with the pre-game, post-game, half-time shows and tons of behind-the-scenes footage.

Roethlisberger: Pittsburgh's Own Big Ben
Description: Ben Roethlisberger, the rookie quarterback for the pittsburgh Steelers, is fast becoming one of the most clutch and phenomincal quarterbacks in the NFL today. After getting drafted by the Steelers, Roethlisberger has engineered an offense that has led them to the top of the AFC North. The incredible accuracy and ability to stay composed in crucial situations has allowed Roethlisberger to keep the Steelers atop their division by winning the close games. Roethlisberger has now set NFL records for most wins by a rookie quarterback and he's not ashamed to say that he wants the ball in his hands at the end of a game. "I want to have control of the outcome of the game," Roethlisberger has said. This new book from Sports Publishing celebrates the rookie's outstanding season and recaps his NFL rookie season in vivid detail through full-color photographs and stories from the Associated Press.
