I have been watching Matt light suck for years and I wonder to myself every year how he is still on the team. Belichek is a great coach and deserves all the praise he gets for taking risks smart calls and recruiting but I can't for the life of me figurre out why Matt light is kept on that roster and why Brady and belichek think he deserves to be on that team. He Is a weak link.

It looks like he just lets the defense run by him if he was replaced brady would have alot more time to throw. just shows bradys skill being able to make plays with a couple seconds before matt lets the defense run by him

All I know is that if word gets after Light's NFL retirement that he has taken a part-time job as a security guard at a local Boston area bank, every thief in the area will be zeroing in on that Bank at the same time as depositors will be lining up at the front door to withdraw their funds!

Sebastian Vollmer is as natural a starting left tackle as the NFL has seen in decades, but Hoodie still seems to think that his best "value" is in playing him on the right side of the line while Matt "the turnstyle" Light continues to play out the remainder of his career at the left tackle position. I just don't get it, as yesterday's game at San Diego once again illustrated just how inept Light is as an NFL lineman when facing the league's better DEs or LBs. Anyway, Brady's blind side continues to remain as porous as Swiss cheeze with Light holding down the fort, and I cannot help but wonder how much longer Patriots fans have to watch in anguish each week as edge rushers blow by Light and bear down on Brady while in the pocket at key moments of big games?

He does suck. Every quick end or linebacker gets around him so easy ... its pathetic

I truly love Matt Light and think he is the best O-lineman in the AFC

They say he is great because he is a talkative guy. His play sucks!. The only time the line played halfway decent this year was when he was out and Vollmer was on the left side. Light needs to go. Maybe he should go do more commercials.

matt light nickname should be "The Cape".  Everytime Brady passes light is hanging off the back of somebody as once again the blow by him

I've watched the Patriots for so many years and I'm so disappointed in the fact that they keep Matt Light in the line up.  He's useless.  I just watched him blow a block against the Ravens and Brady was strip sacked.  Why do the analysts keep saying he is so great?????  He is the best player the opposing team has.

Matt Light has always been slow, awkward and physically soft at the left tackle position. I will never forget the Jets game in New York several years ago when John Abraham knocked Light on his *ss and then stepped on Light's chest on the way to sacking Brady. Then of course there was Light's unforgettable 2007 Superbowl performance, where he was repeatedly knocked on his butt and given ample opportunity to engage in star gazing. But the one image that comes to mind that I think best depicts Light's value to the Patriots over the years was the Boston Globe photo of him lying on his back during a training-camp stretching exercise in 2008.  Anyway, as bad as Light has been, Sebastian Vollmer has been a breath of fresh air and a dominant force at left tackle thus far in his rookie season. Anyone that knows football will tell you that Vollmer is a special talent, and he has already drawn the attention of CBS and Fox sports analysts due to his dominance against some of the NFL's premiere pass rushers over the past six games. Vollmer is a Bill Parcells type of guy, and I bet that the old coach is up late at night thinking about how he might be able to acquire the kid at some future date. With that said, the only Patriot offensive lineman that has been worse than Light over the past 50 years has been Nick Kacur. Both Light and Kazur are cut from the same cloth and I only wish that they would also be cut from the same team ASAP!

Matt Light looks like Bruce Armstrong did before he retired--old and slow. Any speed rusher can spin by him. Did you see him get thrown to the ground just before the interception return for a TD? Why do you think Brady is off the mark? Because he gets 1.8 seconds to go through 5 progressions because his o line can't give him time. Brady has happy feet because his o line, anchored by All Blow Matt Light, let him down every single down.

He was a step too slow last year and now he's two. Save Brady and start Sebastian Vollemer now!

All-Pro and Matt Light don't even deserve to be in the same paragraph.  The guy is just as good as a turn-style in the subway.  This guy flat out whacks it and was a main contributor to the Superbowl collapse.
