Who is picking up the burden of playing the 1 to 2 minutes of slop time that Luke could be counted on every few games. After all one can sit only so long.. but then he appears to have developed some sort of endurance for having a sore butt..maybe the chairs have really comfortable cushions down at the end of the bench.

fact that luke is FIFTH most paid on the payroll, above Steve Blake and Derek Fisher is laughable.  Kupchak's either got some back-door deal with Bill Walton, or is a fuken idiot.  both would be perfectly valid.

and, it's not like they can include luke in a trade deal, considering he's a terrible, awkward, non-contributing player with still roughly $6M left on the life of his contract.  no one's paying that for luke.

luke's contract runs out end of '13 season, at which point i wouldn't be surprised, not one bit, if he's sent down to d-league or worse.

Final game of the season: Lakers up by 20 over the Kings in the 4th (it was 22 but they overturned Joe Smith's 2).  Luke Walton singlehandedly shifts the momentum in favor of the Kings with his usual deer in headlights routine whenever the ball lands in his hands.  Lakers barely make it into overtime.  I almost have a heart attack.

But you can't blame Luke.  He doesn't belong in the NBA, but if they're going to let him play, they have to face the consequences.  The person who deserves the blame here is Phil Jackson.  First, he never should put Luke in the game.  Second, he left him in way too long.  Third, when the momentum shifted, he tried to address it by bringing the entire starting lineup back at once while they were cold and the Kings were on fire.

The only explanation I can think of for why Luke hasn't been kicked off the team yet is that Bill Walton is blackmailing Jerry Buss with compromising photographs of Buss and some underaged girl.
