Aoki is too one-dimensional. And it's fine if he can get to ground well but as Gilbert proved, Aoki doesn't have good takedown. I understand that he sucks ass at standup too but if he doesn't improve his takedown, he won't beat any elite fighters in UFC/Strikeforce.

suprised there arent any comments in here about his scam of a 'victory' against Hansen. They stopped the match so Shinya the faggot could recover from an upkick and then aoki 'won' with a sneaky, shitty little armbar. In Aoki's last match, against Vitor Ribeiro, everyone was expecting a technical grappling match. Instead, Shinya came out with standup (kicks) for almost the entire match, completely frustrating Ribeiro's grappling game. He won a unanimous decision, but was criticized all around for it being a boring match. Personally, I think Aoki is one of the most interesting fighters in MMA. He reminds me of Sakuraba in his prime, because Aoki is willing to take a risk and use techniques others are unwilling and unable to try.
