Mark Teixeira Sucks!! They crucified Jason Giambi, but this one has been getting a free pass since he got here and all you hear are excuses. Here's an idea, maybe Cashman can pay another team to take him off their hands, like he does with every other dumb move he has made. Let's also remember he's a 180 million dollar nice guy. Every time I watch Tex shake that bat nervously over his head waiting for the pitch to come in I have this urge to jump into the TV and grab his bat. It's time for our batting coach to get this guy to focus all this wasted energy on making contact and hitting the ball with a flatter swing, Stop trying to hit home runs! This is not golf.

Mark Texiera being a nice guy with well behaved kids is irrelevant. This isn't scholastic sports where you're praised for giving it the old college try with no repurcussions for your failures. He's a professional athlete and is being paid to produce. Not to simply try. I'm a salesperson, and if my numbers are down, I promise you my boss wouldn't say, "it's okay, he's a nice guy so lets just continue to pay him". When Texiera negotiated his multi million dollar deal, I'm sure he and his agent laid out all the accomplishments Mark was GOING to achieve. Not the ones he was going to TRY and achieve. With big money comes big expectations. No one asked him to negotiate for and take his sack of cash. If he wanted a life without expectations and criticism, he could've kept working for the league minimum.

Tex is Jason Giambi with a good glove. I call him Mr. Un-clutch. Horrible in the post season, and about the worst clutch hitter during the season. In the 8th and 9th inning when the game is on the line, he never comes thru with a big hit, a walk off hit, or a big homerun. Yeah, he'll get his 30 homers and 100 RBI, but most of his homers are solo blasts that come in games that the Yankees are either way ahead or way behind. He is in a decline, very similar to what Jason Giambi went thru with the Yanks. And to think, we're stuck with this clown for the next 4 years at 23 mil per???? Bad deal.

Teixeira  awful postseason player and is very non cluth during the regular season. He stinks in april and refuses to go to left and pull everything. He gets his stats when he gets hot for a few weeks than dies out. I truly am sick of him..

Mark seems like a real great guy. He is a family man that cares about his wife and his children. His wife Leigh is very lucky to have a man in her life like he is. The both of them make the perfect couple. Mark seems like a genuinely nice guy. When you see him in interviews, he comes accross as very humble. He seems to enjoy his job because he loves the game; not because of the salary that comes with it. Granted, I am sure the salary is an added benefit, but he seems to love the game. Also, there is no better first baseman out there.

Congrats to Mark and Leigh. I hope both Mom and baby are doing well.

My husband and I have met Mark twice - both times during on-the-road batting practice. My husband said he is one of the nicest guys in baseball and a totally classy guy.

I go to a lot of games and almost every ball player married or not is scoping out women but not Mark Teixeira.

I assume that such a decent human being must have married someone similar to himself. Good for them and their little boy.

People are throwing a fit about Mark wife Leigh having a baby doing the baseball season. Well to the fans who are pissed off, get the hell over it. Mark Teixeira married Leigh and wanted to have a family with her, and that is what he wants to do. If your a Mark Teixeira fan you will leave him and his wife alone, and let him be with his child and wife. Family comes way before baseball!!!!!
