A great all-around body.  Very sexy especially when he's squatting behind the plate.

By the media and the fans, guys are labeled based on how they behave. Are they nice to fans and the press? Not nice? Ill tempered? Funny? Approachable?

Derek Jeter and Curtis Granderson are very nice. Jeter is such a gentleman. My hubby and I asked him for an autograph in the team hotel and he obliged. We told him we were entering the ball into a fund raising auction for a charity and he asked about the charity. Classy. They treat fans with respect. Derek Lowe is also a good guy and he gives the press good sound bites and he's approachable.

Kelly is known to be not nice. It's not mere rudeness. It's like fans are bothering him. They want to say hello or get an autograph and he lets out an audible sigh like 'stop wasting my time.' He also glares at people so that they don't approach him in the first place. We're his bread and butter for Pete's sake.

These guys have very short careers. A very short shelf life. Some day they're going to wish there were people around who are interested in him and who would want his autograph. I think he's making less in 2012 with the Red Sox than he did in 2011 tho he does have performance bonuses written into this year's contract and those might bring his salary up higher.

Between Triple A and Boston, I estimate that I have seen him play in approximately 40 games.

So he's under pressure ... so are the other 1199 guys on the forty man rosters ... and most of them are not jerky. Brand endorsements are where the big money is. Guys have to remember this and always behave in a professional manner. And remember (person at 938), the guy WAS a Red Sox and that's how we know him. Boston is a very small city. When fans label someone as not being nice - it is ALWAYS an accurate statement.

I must say though that his wife is just darling. Beautiful young lady. Classy. Polished. Just a doll.  

Reply-to:so Ive heard that Kelly Shoppach is kinda a jerk...I heard it on the local sports radio station in columbus-97.1 the fan.i think you can kinda tell it just by the way he is when hes playing...cause sometimes he will get real pissed when he strikes out and break the bat over his leg!i thought he was good last year..and thats one of the main reasons I had pushed for the Indians to keep him at catcher and move Victor to first base.Shoppach definitely has not panned out for us this year...it has taken him forever to adjust his approach and the way he swings the bat...

I've known him from the minors and the majors and he is definitely a jerk. Quite full of himself.
