I honestly have no idea what goes through Jonathan Papelbon's mind. He comes in today with a four run lead, and he blows it. Why? Because every pitch is a perfectly straight 93 mph fastball. The Sox should launch Papelbon and get some more relievers, and make Bard the closer. BOTTOM LINE: Papelbon sucks. |

| I think the whole concept of "closers" is flawed. If you have a lead going into the 9th, and your pitcher is not falling apart, what sense does it make to replace him with an unlnown quantity - like Papelbon? |

When are the Red Sox going to learn and just cut ties with paplesuck he is a cocky ass and is not the best closer on the team...how can you have a game like the Red Sox just had against Jiminez and the Paplesucks comes in and lets the team down like always...his saves this year are misleading he usually gets them when the Sox are up by 2 or 3 |

Jon is a GREAT player and even better person! He is sincerely the nicest, most humble guy out there. It's nice to see a player who has enjoyed so much success, stay true to his roots and remain a grounded person. His parents did well! |

| papelbon is nothing more than an arrogant middle of the road closer who has had success. he thinks hes hot stuff cause he can bring it with a fastball, but major league hitters have no problem squaring up a 95+ mph heater down the middle. he needs to learn how to pitch instead of throwing it and thinking he's unhittable...because as we've seen, he's not. sox need to ditch this guy and the rest of their bullpen and get guys who know how to pitch. arrogant fools like pap are just not needed on this club |

something is wrong with this red sox team, they just suck. they are not gonna make the playoffs at this rate. They don t have offense, pitching sucks, their closer keeps blowing leads. what is it gonna take, they paid these losers big buck to play here and they suck? Martinez was suppose to play every day and veritek been in there lot lately. Ortiz can t hit is way out of a paper bag. Red Sox this year are just simple a bad team, that is not making the playoffs. |

Rivera sucks especially against the Sox...I really don't get nervous with him in the game...Papelbon will come around...at least he better. Boston fans only take so much and his personality will only get him so far until fans start getting pissed...he'll come around when people start booing him for sure :) p.s. hope rivera stays with the yankees for many more years so the Sox can win :) |
