Rather, I'm just speculating on how she earned that kind of reputation.  Perhaps because of the similarity of names ... it could be that Dustin Kelly got confused with Dustin Pedroia ... and then people made the jump (that Farrah must have slept with ALL the Red Sox, just because she slept with one) ...

But what can one do?  There are a number of people out there stuck on the idea of her being some kind of *tramp* or *groupie* -- whether or not she deserves such labels.

Perhaps Dustin Kelly got confused with Dustin Pedroia ... and perhaps sleeping with one other Red Sox player (besides Jon Lester) earned Farrah the reputation of a "tramp who slept with the whole team" ...

Farrah's uncle was one of the special coaches and they were friends with alot of the players and their girlfriends. She dated Dustin Kelly about 5 months and he broke up with her over the phone new years eve--said he couldn't do long distance. He was released by the redsox two months later in spring training. She only dated Dustin, she was close friends with alot of the guys and their girlfriends. She is a very classy girl and by no means was ever a groupie. She met Jon when he was in Greenville for three weeks rehabing.

No, I'm not a friend or family member of Jon's ex.  I've never even met Roxy.  The only connection between us is the same alma mater (Dartmouth College).  But since I graduated in 1991 and she in (I presume) 2007, we don't know each other personally.  Why always jump to conclusions that someone necessarily belongs in Roxy's camp, just because he's speculating on the status of Jon's marriage?

Thats what the posters were talkin about people like you making crap up just to have something to gossip about. You're a joke. From what I hear they are happily married, give the guy a break. Lester did great last night except for on inning. He is alot better than the numbers show. None of the Redsox are on target right now...Oh I guess they are ALL having problems with thier marriages/relationships right now. Man I guess we better send someone down to talk to the whole team.... LOL Get a frickin life family member/friend/sis/ex ...or ex herself...You make us all laugh

Is Jon suffering from marital problems that are distracting him from work?  It seems that he's just not the consistent starter this year, as he was last year.  I know that all married persons go through a period of transition and adjustment ... But then, didn't he already live with Farrah for a while, before marrying her?  What's his problem, then?

It's difficult to verify the *facts* presented on this board, since it's anonymous.  It's even more difficult to pinpoint the origin of some stories or rumors.  I personally don't know either Roxy or Farrah -- and don't know what to make of the charges that have been presented.  That's why I believe in suspending judgment until all the facts are verified.

It may not necessarily be that Jon's ex is behind the claim that his wife is some kind of *tramp* or *groupie* (and I'm not suggesting that this claim is true).  As for Roxy being a *spoiled college student*: again, it's difficult to say where this charge originated.  But it needs substantiation, before I'll buy it.

I personally am not especially partial to either girl, since I'm not a friend or acquaintance of either.

And do you know for sure that Roxy was a *spoiled college student*?  Even if so: hasn't it been said that she's currently in law school?  Look: I'm not saying that Jon should have married her (certainly it would not have been a good thing, if their lifestyles were incompatible).

I'm just decrying the way people are trashing his ex without solid basis -- just as there are people who unjustly trash Farrah (the verdict is still in the air as to whether she really is a "tramp who has slept with just about all the Red Sox").

Only spoiled college students do NOT have a job while in school. I've seen it first hand---these parents are doing a injustice to these young adults..How will they survive in the real world? Thats whats wrong with alot of young adults today...everything has always been handed to them. They have NO drive to work for what they want, they just call daddy and say I need and it's there.

What I meant was that college years are devoted mainly to study; the real world (where you work) typically follows.  Why should Jon have been especially turned off by Roxy going to college and not working a full-time job, while at Dartmouth?  I'm not saying that he should necessarily have stayed with her.  But that can't have been a good reason for breaking up -- and I trust that there was more to it.

Like I said: there's no need to trash either woman, just because one is sympathetic or partial to the other.

Like I said: it may be wrong to trash Farrah without justification.  But by that same logic, it's wrong to trash Roxy without justification, either.  Jon may not have felt called to marry her -- but why call her an "old bad dream" (especially since she stood by him during his illness)?

And what's the basis for claiming that she "has never had a real job, always living off her parents"?  Let's not forget that she went to college -- and therefore was not in a situation to work a job.  One presumes that she's working NOW -- or continuing her studies at the graduate level.

Well yes: I admit to being primarily a RED SOX -- not Jon Lester -- fan.  That's why I'm so concerned about his recent performances on the field: he scarcely resembles the Cy Young Award candidate he was last year.

Of course: he's a much better pitcher than his numbers indicate.  It seems that he cruises for about several innings -- and then gets into big trouble with one bad inning that does him in (errors from himself or others, bad bounces of the ball, etc).

I wonder if he's having marital problems, or suffering from something that's keeping him from being more focused on the game ... or perhaps the multi-million dollar contract has caused him to slack off ...

Oh well: he signed that contract, so he's set for life (there is no obligation for him to return his money, and he's entitled to pitch and get those $$ -- no matter how much of a bust he turns out.  In this, he's no different from other big name, big money pitchers.  If it came to that, Josh Beckett hasn't exactly been the most consistent starter, either).  I trust that Jon has the decency to get his act together and perform up to expectations.

I myself not trashing Farrah: it's not that I personally am accusing her of being a *groupie* or a *gold-digger* (and one doesn't necessarily have to be partisan to Jon's ex, to label her such).  Rather, I'm simply repeating things I've HEARD said about her -- whether or not they're justified: that's in the air, subject to confirmation from more reliable sources.

It may be wrong to trash Farrah without justification, but by that same token it's wrong to trash Roxy and claim about her some of the things that have been written.  Even if you're totally sympathetic to Jon's wife, it's not necessary to unduliy trash his ex -- especially by saying things that are either untrue or unverified.

FYI: I came across that website by chance (through a Google search).  Since I didn't build or design it, you can't hold me responsible.  Moreover, Jon and Farrah presumably had the option of barring their photos from the said site -- if they wanted privacy, at all costs.  The thing is: a degree of publicity regarding their marriage is inevitable (if it came to that, let's not forget that they even had a wedding registry online).

As for posting the link on this message board: well, if the website itself is accessible by the public, I don't see why it necessarily has to be kept a secret here.  As said before: if the privacy of these ballplayers should be respected at all costs, why does this gossip site even exist, in the first place?  What's the purpose of this board -- other than presenting news, gossip, and (if you will) photos?

Like I said: I didn't present something that was confidential -- as the wedding photo website was already available.

I agree with you 100%

Things like marriages and divorces are PUBLIC information. even housing records. just beacuse they are baseball players they dont get special treatment. part of that is the criticism they may get.

Well: Farrah is to be commended for spending her time in a constructive manner -- assuming that she has a respectable job.  Does anybody know what she does for a living?  I would indeed respect her more, if she is capable of providing a sufficient income for herself -- and if necessary, able to support her husband, should any disaster befall him.  After all: marriage is supposed to be for better or worse.

For all the trash-talking that SOME have engaged in, regarding Farrah, she at least can't be labeled a gold digger -- since she met, fell in love with, and married Jon before he signed a contract worth millions.

As it is: the site is available -- in which case it should be legitimate to post information on it, on this message board.  Why do YOU post on it, anyway?  Are the moderator?  If it's such an offensive thing, why not simply take down this board?  I strongly doubt that any of the players even bother visiting it: they're too busy with their work.

If you know the ex, can you say how she's doing?  Is she a law school student (as some reports have it)?  And is she in a good, steady relationship with a nice new guy?

I think it's high time that everyone stop trashing either Roxy or Farrah -- especially if they don't know either woman.  And they have no business posting *facts* that haven't necessarily been validated.

It's entirely possible to be objective and sympathetic to BOTH women.  Each was/is, in her own way, a special part of Jon's life at a certain point.  It's just that he didn't see a future with Roxy, which he did with Farrah.

Why would anyone even care about this, the couple's been married since Jan. I'm sure( Jon, his wife..her family and his fam) could care less whether the girl has had work done or not... If he didn't think his wife was WORTHY as you put it, he would never have dated or married the girl. I myself am glad he has found someone to be happy with and live his life. This guy deserves it after all he has been through. He has it all now- BASEBALL (World series win) (NO HITTER), STATUS, 5 year CONTRACT, WIFE and LIFE! Way to go Jon Lester we'll be cheering you on this season.

Yes, it's pretty old news by now: the two got engaged last July, and married just this past January.  As a Jon Lester fan, I can only wish him all the happiness in the world, and hope that Farrah turns out to be a worthy wife.  Of course, he needs to be a worthy husband, too.

Obviously my best wishes are for him, not her.  But that's the Red Sox fan in me speaking.

I just read the article on Jon in the Sunday Parade magazine and just wanted to say how impressed I am with this young man.  I was especially intrigued because my daughter is 22 years old, is a student at Northeastern University in Vocal Performance and was also diagnosed with Lymphoma, (Hodgkin's).  She is also now cancer-free - which we thank God for everyday!  The ironic part is that my daughter will be singing the National Anthem at Fenway for the Boston Red Sox on Friday, April 24 - the night they play the NY Yankees.  I couldn't help but be struck by the similarities between Jon and my daughter.  They were both pursuing their dreams, when an unexpected illness forced them to reexamine their lives.  And both came out on the other end with a new appreciation of life.  Kudos to you and every other person that struggles with cancer and not only survives, but thrives.

I am hoping that we will be able to get tickets to the game to hear our daughter sing.  It is the culmination of her journey back and a testimony to God's grace and alot of hard work - just like Jon.    Thanks Jon for your inspiration - I know it isn't how you want to be known, but the truth remains - you are.

Anybody got any tickets????   :-)

I myself am not trashing Farrah: I'm only presenting the popular characterization of her -- whether or not this is entirely accurate.  Somehow, for some reason or another, she came across as a *groupie* (as with all rumors and gossip, the origin is not entirely clear).

This is not to say that this is, in fact, what she is: only those who know her intimately can say for sure.

Groupie or not, at least she's not a gold-digger: as of yet, Jon Lester has not signed a multi-year, multi-million contract.  That kind of security should make ANYBODY attractive to even a non-groupie.  As it is, Farrah met the guy when he was not yet worth much -- although he was hardly a *nobody.*

Wow.  You're on some ranDUMB message boards, and you're trashing a baseball player's wife.  How sad is your life?!

Btw, Jon is one of the absolute nicest guys I have ever met, and I only met Farrah once; she was very quiet, but very nice.

No one on here knows anything about the relationship, so seriously.  Get a friggin' life...

Jeanni: you must be kidding, aren't you?  Or perhaps you haven't been following Jon Lester news ... The guy just recently got married (to Farrah Johnson, who -- rightly or not -- has come across with the reputation of being a *groupie*).

I live in Boston. I'm not an ex. I'm just someone who knows at least as much as you do.

And if you think the players give a cheesey site like this a second thought you DON'T know much.  Also, if you're truly a friend of Farrah's, I'm sure she wouldn't be too happy to see you participating in a forum like this.

Does anybody think that the players really bother to spend the time to read posts on these boards?  And if so, how exactly can they identify the posters, anyway -- given that the boards are anonymous?  I know that there are IP addresses for computers -- but e-mails?  Common, now ...

Not even e-mail addresses are that terribly revealing, if it came to that: they can easily hide identities.  In the end, there really is no reliable way to verify the identity of any given poster or confirm the information presented.  It has been said that 90% of the stuff is untrue -- fanciful, invented.

Perhaps that's an exaggeration.  Still: don't expect people to just buy into it, when you claim to be a friend of Jon/Farrah who attended the wedding ...

Sorry not farrah's mom, just a friend thats known her for years and yes I attended the wedding as well. Whats funny is I think i know who wrote the last few nasty comments. Did you guys know that people watch this web site everyday for these players?all of the players. That they can tell who is posting what even though we can't. That they copy these comments everyday with the posters real emails. Boy i wouldn't want to get caught with my pants down on this one and be someone she thinks is a friend or and ex.

I wonder how it was, then, that Farrah merited the reputation of a *cleat-chaser.*  It certainly can't have been only because of that football player who never made it to the NFL.

Oh well ... there is still room for this thing called change.  As such, she might come across as a reformed *groupie.*

That's so funny I can't breath...All of her best friends were at the wedding...They were in her wedding!!! They have all been best friends since 6th grade.. Sounds like you weren't invited and have a problem with that!!! To bad honey bun...I think it's time to grow up....I was there to bad you weren't...How old are you??? 10- 15 years???? That's what you sound like a jealous 15 year old. Do you have a life of your own? Are you so consumed with someone elses life that you are in knots? You need to find a man, is that possible? do you chase them off with you possessiveness???....You chicks just kill me with the jealousy thing....always wanting what someone else has..Tryin to make yourself look better by putting someone else down..Sad Sad women. Farrah has no morals.  She's been a cleat chaser most of her adult life, and she finally hooked her claws into one.

Jon isn't known for his brains.  This is more proof of that.

Funny how none of her friends from her days before and when she met Jon were at her wedding.

You are so full of crap about Will Proctor...He was a player and No girl with any morals would ever have a relationship with him. I went to school with them as well and he was a piece of work....Farrah never really dated him. He dated the girl cameron who was on the real world...Who are you that you went to high school with her and you are so bitter that you would even print something like that... Jealous much???? Farrah and Will were friends her freshman year...long time before he ever touched a football at Clemson...which was his Senior year...Farrah and him were not even friends by that point...Get the story straight....She is a close friend of mine and she went 4 years of Colllege and didn't date anyone.....Yall have No clue as to the kind of girl she is...

I found this recent post (dating from December 2008) on a New England news website.  What do you say to this?

"farrah johnson went from will proctor to lester. when proctor had no chance of making it to the nfl she jumped ship. i know this because i went to wade hampton high and to tri county tech school with her. just another gold digger."

I'm just curious -- that's all.  Given the anonymity of this message board, it's kind of hard to verify the information posted.  People have been only vaguely identifying themselves ("a friend of _") -- so you can't always be sure that what they say is all true.

That Jon and Farrah did indeed marry is in no doubt -- given the photographic evidence and his own verbal references.  But that's the only thing definite.

Was there a lot of good music?  Any special person (close family or friend) singing?  What kind of food was served at the reception (which I assume was held in the same building)?

The wedding party was mixed with about sixty people from Jon's home state. Sorry but the ex's were not included in the invites...nor was the press. I would guess there were 180 to 200 people in attendance. It was a blast...one of the best weddings I've ever attended. Several players were also there, which made a very interesting night. No one bother them...they were treated like normal people and you could tell they really enjoyed their self. It was like a fairy Tale wedding...just perfect....They make a great couple....good looking couple!!!

Were the wedding invitees mostly Farrah's family and friends, or Jon's?  I know she's a Southerner, and the two married in South Carolina.  That Jason Varitek (a teammate and friend who lives during the offseason in nearby Georgia) came isn't all that surprising.  I don't know of the other specific Red Sox that Jon considers as his close friends, though ...

I also wonder if either invited an ex to the event.  Sometimes that happens (I've heard of people breaking up amicably, and even inviting former boy/girlfriends to their weddings).

Phsst...everytime a new pic of Farrah comes out that shows her full length, somebody starts up with the "she looks pregnant!" BS.  The pic from the golf thing last year, the fashion show pic, and now the wedding pic.  Maybe that's just how she's built?  I doubt she's been 3-4 months preg since last June.....

And it always seems to be brought up by the poster from IL......
